desecration goes on
He take hirahira tënei mo tätou.
We are interested in when and what time the next hui is going to be to discuss what is going to be done to the ancient Iwi sacred site where punga huts and human bones have been found on a taranaki street building site recently (go to this link to read the korero on the issue, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tino-rangatiratanga/messages). Could you let us know because as far as has been ascertained the indications are that other tribes were resident there before taranaki and the päkehä came. Therefore, as there is no proof that this was exclusively a taranaki whanui pa. The local whakaminenga recommends that we email you and the mayor to get a determination as to what you's are going to do, and as only one of the representative of the other tribes of the te whanganui a tara area we collectively want to know what is going to happen. Moreover, as we do not necessarily agree with being classified as a taurahere (a päkehä concept) we want to know what is going to happen, and to date as we have had no invitations to attend hui to discuss what is to be done about the site then we may have to occupy it. We have people patrolling the site 24/7 so if developers move in we will be taking over the site.
